~Monthly Birthstones~

November Birthstone:
Yellow Topaz
Topaz is the birthstone of November
(yellow topaz) and it is a talisman for
the sign of Sagittarius.
The name topaz comes from the
Sanskrit and means fire.
Topaz occurs in a wide range of
colors including red, orange, peach,
pink, gold, yellow, brown and clear
and is found in Brazil, Sri Lanka,
Pakistan and Russia. Naturally pale
to medium blue topaz is enhanced by
irradiation to produce a more intense
blue color.
Red and pink topaz gems were used in
the jewelry of the 18th and 19th Century
Russian Czarinas and is why topaz is
sometimes called "Imperial Topaz".
The most famous topaz is actually a
colorless topaz that was originally thought
to be a diamond. It is a 1680 carat stone
known as the "Braganza Diamond" set
in the Portuguese Crown Jewels. Another
beautiful topaz is in the Green Vault in
Dresden which has one of the world's
most important gem collections.
Although topaz is a very hard gemstone,
it can be split with a single blow and
should be protected from hard knocks.

November Horoscope:

Sagittarius (Nov 22nd-Dec 21st)
Sagittarius, the ninth Sign of the
Zodiac, is the home of the
wanderers of the Zodiac. It's
not a mindless ramble for these
folks, either. Sagittarians are
truth-seekers, and the best way
for them to do this is to hit the
road, talk to others and get
some answers. Knowledge is
key to these folks, since it fuels
their broad-minded approach to
life. The Sagittarian-born are
keenly interested in philosophy
and religion, and they find that
these disciplines aid their internal
quest. At the end of the day, what
Sagittarians want most is to know
the meaning of life, and if they
accomplish this while feeling free
and easy, all the better.

Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
You can become obsessed with detail and
must be sure to divide your time appropriately.
Don't let others bait you into arguments.
Question your mate if you must. Brunch, a long
walk, or a quiet dinner will secure your position
in the relationship.

COMPUTER TIP FOR October, by
computerfreetips.com
This tip will help you to
secure your computer from
the access of professional
hackers. There are some
hacker’s breaks into your
computer without using
any impressive programming
skills but trying to find
words to guess as your
password. Normally people
use their name, house
number, mobile number
and word “password” as
a password. If you have
very simple password then
a hacker can hack your
computer very easily. To
safe your computer from
hackers there is a best
way to create a tricky
password. Here I will tell
you some different type
of tricks to make your
password that can’t guess
easily by any body.
Use the maximum characters
in your password.
Always set the password using
maximum characters length,
because it is simple method,
if your password is longer
then it is very difficult to guess.
Use the combination of
lower-case and upper case
letters in your password.

HEALTHWATCH
Enlarged Prostate
The prostate is a gland that makes fluid forming
part of the semen. It is about the size of a walnut
normally. This gland is located below the bladder
but in front of the rectum. It surrounds the upper
part of the urethra.
Most men eventually develop an enlarged prostate
glad. this is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia.
It is generally not cancerous or life-threatenting.
It can cause several problems, however, including:
*increased urgency to urinate
*frequent urination, especially at night
*diminished urine flow or slow stream
*incomplete bladder elimination
The gland tends to obstruct the flow of urine due to
the enlargement. Some treatments include:
*waiting to see if the symptoms get worse
*medications to help smooth the muscle of the bladder
and prostrate and to promote shrinkage
*surgery to increase the diameter of the urethra or
remove the prostate.
Surgery can increase the risk of complications such as
impotence and/or incontinence.
Tips to help relieve problems include:
*remaining sexually active
*taking hot baths
*avoiding dampness or cold temps
*not allowing the bladder to get too full
*taking frequent bathroom stops when traveling
*limiting coffee, alcohol or spicy foods
*Drink 8 or more glasses of water daily
*reduce stress
*don't smoke
*avoid over-the-counter medicines with antihistamines

FOOD FACTS

Cranberries
(from Foodreference.com)
Cranberries were first cultivated in Massachusetts
around 1815 and are only one of three major native
North American fruits. Some cranberry beds have
been around for over 100 years. Most of the U.S.
cranberry crop is grown in only five states:
Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Oregon,
and Washington. Each year, more than 110,000
metric tons of cranberries are produced in the
United States. Most cranberries are harvested
by machine, but machines damage the berry.
Damaged berries are not suitable to sell fresh
but work well for juices, jellies, and other
products. More than one-third of the
cranberries grown in the United States
are made into juice. Fresh whole berries
may be purchased, but are often expensive
because they have to be hand-picked to
avoid the damage caused by machine-picking.
Native Americans used cranberries for both
their medicinal and natural preservative powers.
They brewed cranberry mixtures to draw poison
from arrow wounds. They also pounded
cranberries into a paste and mixed the
paste with dried meat to extend the life
of the meat.
The name cranberry was given to this plant
because the Pilgrims believed the plant looked
like the head of a sandhill crane and was
originally named “craneberry.” Over time,
the “e” was dropped.
Selection-
Good, ripecranberries will bounce,
which is why they are nicknamed “bounceberries.”
They should be shiny and plump and range in
color from bright light red to dark red.
Shriveled berries or those with brown spots
should be avoided. Cranberries do not ripen
after harvest..
